Children and Poems
Mr Tan: Many of us are not having children now.
Tianyu: ... Really?
[Lit Tutorial]
Ms Heng:
"Go, and catch a falling star,
Get with child a mandrake root,"
These two lines are famous - wait, Tianyu, what are you doing with your hand under the table?
Darryl: He's getting with child a mandrae root.
Ms Heng: No, he's playing with a pen. That could be a phallic symbol. Ha ha ha.
Ms Heng:
"And swear
Nowhere
Lives a woman true, and fair."
What does this mean?
Zeyu: He's cynical that there's no woman true and fair.
Ms Heng: Of course! Paraphrase it!
Darryl: There is no true and fair woman.
Ms Heng: ...
09A10: TRUMAN!
Ms Heng: ...what?
Zeyu: *sings* I see your true colours...
Ms Heng: You should never be reductionistic!
